TPRO, specialist in design, supply, installation and qualification of turnkey projects, has developed a new facility concept: Mobile and modular high-biological risk containment laboratories. This BSL-3 modular concept responds to a definite strategy in treating and preventing cases of avian influenza detected around the world over the last few months.

Maximum care in design, carried out jointly over one year by the TPRO team has resulted in a modular system that is quick to built, easy to install (plug and play concept) and which can be pre-qualified in the factory. One of the main qualities of this system is its flexibility in mobility and location, which enables it to be relocated at any time because its module dimensions are standard for international transport containers. All this means that it is a flexible, efficient and economic for controlling high-risk biological samples outside the usual installations.

This is not the first time that TPRO has collaborated in the fight against international health crises on a biotechnological level due to in 2002 it also successfully designed and installed one of the world's first plants to obtain a licence to produce the SARS vaccine in China.  The presence of TPRO on a worldwide level, its knowledge and experience in this type of biosafety installations, the capacity to develop "tailor-made" solutions and its continuous technological advances, make it a dynamic company that is able to satisfy the specific needs in the field of biosafety.
